Rickey Bolden was born and raised in the inner city of Dallas, Texas with four brothers and four sisters. Rickey excelled in sports at an early age and by his senior year in high school he was one of Texas top recruit. He received a football scholarship to Southern Methodist University and by his senior year in college he was named to the All Southwest Conference team. He was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in 1984, and had an immediate impact on the team. He played six seasons, and then retired to continue his education at Ashland Theological Seminary and pursue a call into full time ministry. Rickey earned a bachlors degree from SMU, a Master of Divinity and a Doctorate of Ministry degree from Ashland Theological Seminary. In 1992, Rickey relocated to Washington D.C. to pastor Southeast Christian Fellowship. Nine years later he retired to serve our nations leadership. In 2005, Rickey moved to LaGrange Georgia and became the Senior Pastor of New Community. In 2013, Rickey moved back to Washington D.C. to serve s the less fortunitate in the metropolitan area.
Glenda was raised in a single parent home by her mother Mildred Smith and has two sisters, Viginia and Maria. She was raised in the same community as Rickey; and also attended the same elementry school. Rickey and Glenda were married on Febuary 14, 1988.
Glenda currently owns her own business, Sew Bold Creations where she does custom curtains, draperies, and many other things. She took the time to stay at home with our four children while they matriculated through grade school.
Joshua (23) graduated from LaGrange High School in 2008, went on to attend Columbus State University where he major in music performance. In 2012, Joshua graduated from Columbus State University with a Bachelor of Science in Music Performance. He is currently applying to Graduate Schools.
Caleb (21) graduated from LaGrange High School in 2008 and went on to attend Columbus State University where he majored in Information Technology. He is currently a senior and graduates in December. While attending Columbus State, Caleb joined the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated.
Leah (19) graduated from LaGrange High School in 2011 and enrolled in Berry College. She is currently a sophomore Biology major with hopes of graduating with honors and attending Medical School.
Micah (17) is currently a junior at LaGrange High School.
